You’re in for a treat South Bay music lovers. Coming all the way from Galicia Spain, guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer Carlos Calvo has spent more than 30 years on stages and in studios as the musician other musicians call when they want the best. He fronted bands that toured with Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and Willie Porter, and as a solo artist has toured with The Bacon Brothers and Colin Hay and headlined across Europe.
Raised among flamenco and classical legends like Sabicas and Al Di Meola, Carlos trained at Carnegie Hall but was equally shaped by The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix. He attended the famed Musicians Institute in Hollywood, where he was honored with the Outstanding Graduate award presented by his mentor, Tommy Tedesco.
His original music showcases his distinctive Alternative Folk and Pop style, blending acoustic-driven performances with full band energy and sophisticated songwriting. Past Present Future and Further Down The Line are albums that can be streamed on all major platforms. His original music can be heard in major films and television shows. Also co-creator of Jack Daniels Tasting Notes, a whiskey and live music experience and music director for Jack Daniels private lounge in LA.
Carlos crafted the signature guitar riffs of King of the Hill and records for film and TV scores. Known as Hollywood “Guitar Teacher to the Stars”, he has taught Adam Levine of Maroon 5, as well as Suki Waterhouse, and Odessa A’zion. He has coached actors to play musicians in Californication, Ray Donovan, and Get On Up. Now based in Northern Spain, he brings decades of world-class musicianship to every show.
