Known for his soulful musicianship, heartfelt songwriting, and undeniable presence on stage, Nate has become a cornerstone of the South Bay music scene. Nate LaPointe is a South Bay treasure — a masterful guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose career spans stages big and small. Best known as the longtime lead guitarist for Cubensis: The Grateful Dead Music Experience, Nate has shared his talents nationwide, channeling both technical precision and deep emotional connection through his playing. He’s also a vital part of the South Bay’s own Barley, one of the area’s most popular and beloved local bands, further cementing his reputation as a fixture of the community’s music culture.

Earlier in his career, Nate had the rare honor of performing with the legendary Bobby Womack, an experience that shaped his artistry and deepened his connection to soul, blues, and the roots of American music. His versatility has since carried him through collaborations across funk, folk, rock, and jam scenes, always with a signature sound that blends storytelling with improvisation.
